🌐 SAT 11/28 at 6:30 AM. Hillsboro Lighthouse sunrise

About this event

Hello Friends,

It's looking an awful lot like sunrise, as viewed from the Hillsboro inlet park, will happen with the rising sun behind the lighthouse... on November 28 at 6:49am. (sorry for the early morning, but that's when it's happening)

Needless to say, weather being favorable, this could lead to some pretty cool photos, so let's get together and take some pictures!

This could also be a great opportunity to practice long exposure photography, which could make the water and clouds soft and dreamy.

Enthusiasts might want some specialized hardware:

• a Tripod,

• a neutral density filter or polarizing filter

• a remote trigger or other remote controls

(many manufactures have an app for controlling the camera from a smartphone.) * Sunscreen if you're staying past sunrise.

You'll also have the opportunity to do some street photography around the park and there are very likely to be seabirds. I'll put a few pics in the meetup album to give you a sense of the area, but there's a small playground, some piers and a drawbridge right next to the park.

Photo Challenge Album A photo challenge album will be created for the event. This lets us see and talk about the images we take. Upload no more than 3 of your best images to the photo album attached to this event by 7: PM Wednesday, Dec 2nd 2026. The winning image will be the permanent album cover. There will be second and third places as well.
