It's known for its fast, intricate footwork, acrobatic tricks, and lifts. Some other characteristics of Salsa Caleña include: Footwork: The footwork is fast and intricate, with a syncopated "Repique" step. The upper body is relatively rigid compared to other styles of salsa. Music: It's most commonly danced to Salsa Brava, a percussion-heavy salsa that matches the fast footwork Movement: The movement is mainly done by the lower part of the body. Turn patterns: The turn patterns are simple, keeping the focus on the fast footwork.
