The Bumpy Road to the NFL

About this event

To make it into the NFL, the long road does not start at the NFL Draft. It begins in Youth Football, runs through high school football and ends up on the collegiate level. This lecture will dive into the grit and gamble of the modern path to pro football with families uprooting their lives to find the right youth leagues and players transferring to various high schools numerous times just to make sure the scouting spotlight finds them. We'll look at Name, Image, License (NIL) and how it affects recruiting players on the high school AND college levels with teenagers navigating massive brand deals way before they take a professional snap. NIL has transformed the landscape of high school and college football beyond those players; it affects coaches and programs. Join us for an unfiltered look at this strategic landscape as Palm Beach Post Sports Editor Nick Pugliese examines the often morally gray survival guide young athletes use to turn a long shot into a Sunday reality. This event is also available virtually.
